I spent four hours at Zira Spa and came out totally understanding why the spa has 100+ 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor. Over four hours, I received a body scrub, a reflexology foot massage, an aromatherapy hot oil massage, a Thai herbal compress massage, and a floral jacuzzi soak for only 4,500 baht (USD 135).
From the moment you walk in, the staff is attentive, and they greet you by serving a small snack made up of fruits and tea as they prepare for your arrival. You’re then led through an open-air foyer and down a koi fish-lined pathway that guides you up the staircase and into your private room.
The room was filled with scents of lavender, lemongrass, and mint to instantly set you into relaxation mode. The first service I had was the body scrub, which was lovely, and left me feeling very soft. I then moved onto the foot reflexology massage with lemongrass + mint oil and Thai herbal compression therapy. Thai herbal compression therapy is a technique that relieves stress, pain, inflammation, and promotes deep relaxation. Herbs such as ginger, lemongrass, and turmeric are wrapped up in a muslin compress and steamed to a perfect temperature. The compress is then applied to the body in circular motions with an ideal amount of pressure that leaves you feeling zen af! For my full body hot oil massage, I switched over to the deep relaxation oil. I was so relaxed that I found myself dozing off a bit. My motto is: If you don’t fall asleep, how relaxing could the massage really have been? My spa day ended with a floral bath and a complimentary slice of coconut pie. If I had to give Zira Spa a score, it would be a 5/5. I would like to add that this spa is for those with larger budgets, but I would recommend it to anyone living in Chiang Mai, who needs some rest and relaxation.
So, are you ready to get over here and indulge? What kind of treatments do you enjoy receiving at the spa? Let me know in the comments!
