Today, Taylor Swift released her new album 1989. The social media world has been blowing up with opinions about the country singers new pop album. When Taylor Swift came out in 2006 she stepped on to the scene as a country singer and as the years have come and gone it is clear that she is definitely not that anymore. Although the big corporations love it does it really matter what they think in the long run? Huffington Post and US Weekly can buy one copy of the album, but she is going to need a solid fan base if she wants her album to go platinum. Here are some people’s views on T-Swift’s new album:

I have yet to see where I stand because I personally have always loved the young, sweet, country girl she once was. Seeing big media outlets voice their opinions has to make us wonder. Are they just saying that her album is fabulous because they know that she is a megastar and eventually they will want to do an interview or is it truly genuine. Seeing real people and consumers of society voice their opinion makes me feel a little more inclined to listen to them.

  1. I’ll never forget Kanye interrupting her at the VMA’s in ’09. I will alwyas associate Taylor Swift with that moment. It sucks for her because I’m not the only person who thinks that, but I’m glad to see that it didn’t really affect her career negatively.

  2. Having a niece that loves T Swift and taking her and a friend to Heinz Field 2 summers ago, Taylor has nothing to worry about. She will get the platinum album from all her tween fans and their parent’s money. I have been a fan since she hit the country seen, and I Love “Shake it off.” There will always be haters for something no matter what, in your entry you showed a few negative comments. There are just as many, if not more, T Swift supporters too.

  3. There are only a few types of music that I get a headache from and those are pop and country. Taylor Swift is apparently a combination of both and drives me crazy, not in a good way. Im glad I graduated when I did because my highschool recently did a lip dub to the song “Shake it Off.” Not trying to spread hate but Taylor should swiftly reconsider her career path.

  4. I love Taylor Swift. As someone who has bought her first album, to now, I think she’s safe in regard to her fan base staying intact. I believe Kanye West interrupting her was one of the best things that have ever happened to her. Unlike many celebrities, she stayed classy and never talked bad about him. Celebrities these days are known for feuds but she just brushed it off, wrote a song and let it go. That became the making of a great role model. Also, she is very active on her social media accounts and responds to her fans whenever she can.

  5. I think that social media will always have something to say especially when it involves celebrities. Taylor Swift has always been a talked about celebrity because many don’t think she is talented enough to win as many awards as she does against all these outstanding country music stars. I personally don’t think her music is as good as other country artists, and she shouldn’t be considered a country singer. Her tween fan base will always be around for her to keep making money.
